Chabad of the Neighborhoods

Jewish life in every corner of New York.

Bringing Jewish life to every corner of New York City.

Our Mission

Every Jew.
Every neighborhood.

Chabad of the Neighborhoods brings Jewish life to individual Jews throughout New York City, especially in neighborhoods and workplaces that have no established Jewish infrastructure.

We are built on the Merkos Shlichus model: going out to meet Jews where they are, one person at a time. Not every neighborhood needs a full-time Chabad House or Jewish center to benefit from meaningful Jewish community and Jewish programming.

So we come to you. To the office, the hospital, the shop, the street.

01

Finding the isolated

We identify Jewish professionals in places like Chinatown and Flushing and visit them personally.

02

Building community at work

Lunch-and-learns, holiday events and Jewish community activities that bring together Jews in hospitals, offices and other workplaces.

03

Taking it to the street

Mitzvah campaigns that bring Jewish resources to people who might otherwise never have access to them.

04

A presence where it's needed

We establish a Jewish presence in neighborhoods with a need, without necessarily opening a full Chabad center.

the reach.

Every visit, every lunch-and-learn and every mitzvah campaign is made possible by partners who believe that no Jew should be out of reach.

Your gift helps us reach more neighborhoods and more workplaces, and bring Jewish life to people who would otherwise have no connection to it.

we should meet?
